New Toys for Christmas
Helping Appalachian Rural People
This year has brought very uncertain and difficult times to many of us. With the closures of businesses, layoffs, and health concerns, many residents of Southeastern Ohio who were already struggling to provide essentials for their families have struggled even more. H.A.R.P has been serving our clients these past few months with contact free assistance for basic living items and furniture.
Christmas may look a little different this year, however, H.A.R.P is still committed to providing the gift of hope to children of Southeast Ohio during the holiday season. Now more than ever, we need your help to accomplish this. One large part of H.A.R.P’s funding comes from our fundraising events and another large part of funding comes from church groups and congregations holding events benefiting H.A.R.P. With the cancellation of events and H.A.R.P fundraisers, H.A.R.P will rely heavily on individual donations to bring new toys to children for Christmas this year.
Because of the pandemic, more families than before need assistance to help make their children’s Christmas bright.
For years now, families in our communities have struggled with the obstacles that have been placed in front of them causing financial hardship and preventing stability. Unfortunately, the children of these homes are paying the steepest price. Toys and supplies for these children are more than just tangible items - they are a gift of hope.
